Does BOMBANANA Work on Linux?

Read BOMBANANA's official Linux and Steam Deck statements, the limits of current store information, and what to record when a Linux setup will not run.

LINUX IS LISTED BY THE DEVELOPER

The developer FAQ names Linux and Steam Deck among the Steam platforms. However, the store page checked on September 9 shows Windows and macOS requirements without a separate Linux section. We have not verified a native Linux build or a working configuration for your distribution.

A support statement is not an install recipe.

DEVELOPER FAQ

Linux is named.

The pinned FAQ lists Linux and Steam Deck. This is an official platform statement, not a result from our own hardware testing.

STEAM STORE

No separate Linux requirements found.

The checked listing supplies Windows and macOS requirements. It does not establish the Linux distribution, driver or compatibility-tool configuration to use.

These sources leave the delivery method unresolved here. We therefore do not describe the game as a verified native Linux release or prescribe a particular Proton version. Missing Linux requirements alone also do not demonstrate that the developer’s compatibility statement is false.

Steam Deck compatibility has its own limits.

The developer FAQ answers positively about Steam Deck compatibility. That does not establish a Valve Verified rating, frame-rate target, battery-life figure or every desktop Linux setup.

Running the game and joining a friend on another operating system are separate checks. See the crossplay reference for the platform pairings that remain unconfirmed in the reviewed sources.

Turn “it does not work” into a useful report.

We do not have a reproduced BOMBANANA Linux failure and tested fix to publish. If your setup fails, record the point where it stops before changing several settings at once.

Environment
Linux distribution and version, hardware and graphics driver.
Game build
Full release or old Demo, with the version shown if available.
Runtime
Any compatibility tool already selected and its version; do not assume one is required because it is mentioned in another game’s guide.
Failure point
Installation, launch, display, controls, sound or joining a room.
Observed result
The exact error message and whether the issue happens every time.

Use that information when asking in the official Steam discussions or official Discord. A fix for a different Steam game is not evidence of a BOMBANANA-specific solution.

Already able to launch? Use the online setup guide to separate room-joining questions from launch problems. If you are using an old Demo, check its availability and compatibility limits first.

Sources checked September 9, 2026.

  • Developer FAQ: Linux platform listing and Steam Deck compatibility statement.
  • Official Steam store: the operating-system requirement sections visible in the checked page.

This page records what the official sources establish and what still needs an environment test. It does not supply an unverified launch flag, forced compatibility-tool version or native installer.

Other platform references: PS5, Xbox, and mobile. For the current purchase listing, open the price guide.

No Linux or Steam Deck playtest was performed for this page.
